Danish-Scottish Society in Glasgow & West of Scotland is pleased to invite you all to come along to our Sankt Hans event at Ladymuir Farm in Renfrewshire on Saturday 25th June from 6pm.
We will be serving the classic Danish pølsevogns combination of ice-cold Cocio chocolate milk and both french and traditional hotdogs with all the toppings. You also have the opportunity to enjoy the Danish summer delicacy of koldskål with kammerjunker. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink and use the BBQs available, if you wish. Our hosts Hilary and Morten Riis has kindly provided two cases of Tuborg for guests to enjoy. We will have orange and apple juice available for the children.
The children are invited to take part in a treasure hunt on the farm with goody bags provided. Our Danish book exchange "Den Flyvende Kuffert" will be there and you are welcome to bring books along for it and take some away. As the evening progresses, the children will be able to make snobrød on a stick and toasted marshmallows over the bonfire embers.
After getting our fill of delicious Danish food and drink, our Danish-Scottish folk duo The Quiggs will provide us with live music as we gather around the bonfire for hygge and fællessang. If it rains, we will make good use of Morten's function room for the music and the party.
Things to bring
Please dress for the weather on the day and we also encourage you to bring along midgie spray. There are dogs and cats on the farm so anyone with allergies should take their precautions.
If you plan on driving, please be aware Ladymuir Farm does not show up on google maps. We will email all who sign up with directions on how to get to the farm.
The nearest train station to Ladymuir Farm is Howwood, which is a 10-minute drive away. The train leaves Glasgow Central at 17.05 and we will provide car transport between Howwood Station and Ladymuir Farm and return in time for the 21.01 train back to Glasgow. If you plan on getting the train, please email email@example.com to let us know. Please note there is no curfew though and you are welcome to arrive earlier or stay later as you see fit. We look forward to seeing you all!
Deadline for signing up is Sunday 19th June.
